Dorninger blog moves!

      The artist-driven internet-provider servus.at
      - a long time companion in my online life - made a new service
      available: Drupal!

So I will slowly migrate from this blog to my new Drupal home. At the
moment not all functions are working, so experience what you've get.
      Give it a try!

      Fadis new Drupal-home is here!

More Hipersonica pics by Hugo Frasa

      Hugo Frasa performed live
      with Laborg at Hipersonica.
He created an intense soundtrack, reduced and monochrome in soundcolor
as an opposite to the multi-color textures of the organic stimulations
      of liquids.

Before and after Hugo found time to make excellent photos like this:

The Smiling Buddhas live at Stadtwerkstatt

The Smiling Buddhas (a), Vuneny (bih), Emix (a), Herbst (a)

      Saturday, 21. 04. 2007 22:00 Uhr
Stadtwerkstatt Linz, Kirchengasse 4
in Linz/Urfahr an der schönen Donau

      THE SMILING BUDDHAS

Smiling Buddhas produzieren live virtuelle Hong Kong-Techno-Phantasmen

      website, sound: www.myspace.com/smilingbuddhas

      discographie:

      VUNENY

"Frankly, the uniqueness of VUNENY makes it real hard to compare them to
other artists, but listening to their work you can definitely hear
rhythmic perfection that bands such as Tool dole out or crazy maneuvers
      that Squarepusher is known for."

links: field recordings - part 1

I like to record real sounds with microphones of all kinds.
Glad
that I am not alone in the world. Many sound-artists, researchers or
field-recordists carry the same passion than I do.

Here are some links to get a little insight into this world.

  Field Muzick are
from the German Erzgebirge region who swing between evironmental and
  electronic music. Records like „music
out of open windows“ - [fm01] is a compilation of various
field recordists not only done for indoor listening. They motivate you
to „Listen to it with windows open wide...and let your environment
remix the songs!“ Marcus Obst released with „trafic
tonalité“ a Cdr with relaxing streetnoise »Like a
  sky-coloured Sunday-morning version of Kraftwerk’s "Autobahn".« (Tocafi)
while Frank Rowenta creates a sinister mediterranean summer feeling at „klänge
  siziliens“.
More links out of this : Dronaement,
  Nauze-Muzick

  Rummage
Through The Crevices - the link goes straight to an excellent field
recordings section of the blog - is a weekly community radio segment
(Monday Afternoons, 2SER-FM, Sydney, Australia) devoted to offbeat and
outsider music, less travelled paths of global pop, interesting
re-issued treasures, music-sharing activists, notable and unusual online
  mp3 repositories, etc. The webloggy
  thing is its online companion.

Dan had the same walkman than I had.
But I recorded shows from the
Einstürzenden Neubauten (early days) and other bands while he did some
very special recordings in the arcade.
At his page you can find a
massive archive of fine recordings of Classic
  Arcade Videorecords.

I'm just glad I could preserve them before the the cassettes
  disintegrate.

Bike-Mike at Blogr - play
the audiofiles - for info press the info

New field recordings at BikeMike

I added some new, old and interesting field-recordings to my
  audioblog BIKE-MIKE.

  One recording is from Nasca
(flightstart with a Cesna), one from a coking plant in Essen
(Kokerei Zollverein - see picture) and one from Bisbee,
Arizona. A wild busride up the mountains.

Feel free to spread the link to my audioblog BikeMike.

DORNINGER: Soundtrack für "Geschlossene Gesellschaft"

Theater Phönix präsentiert: "Geschlossene Gesellschaft" von Jean-Paul
  Sartre

  Premiere: 25. Jänner 2007 19.30 Uhr, BALKON

Schauspieler: Helmut Fröhlich, Theo Helm, Melanie Herbe, Ingrid Höller
Regie:
  Alexander Kratzer
Ausstattung: Martin Käser
Licht: Ingo Kelp
Soundtrack:
  Wolfgang Fadi Dorninger

"Es gibt keine körperliche Folter, nicht wahr? Und doch sind wir in
der Hölle. Und niemand darf kommen. Niemand.
Wir werden bis ans
Ende allein zusammen sein. Ist es das? ...

„Geschlossene Gesellschaft“, 1944 in Paris uraufgeführt,
gilt als DAS Schlüsselstück des Existentialismus.

<a href="javascript:HaloScan('<$EntryID$>');" target="_self"> | <a href="javascript:HaloScanTB('<$EntryID$>');" target="_self">

New field recordings by Fadi Dorninger at bike-mike

Ritchie

Bike-Mike: Nice recordings with binaural microphones

electronically yours! presents news from Wipeout, base records,
Dorninger and friends like Fuckhead, Bruckmayr, .... and this is enough
  content.

  But I have a passion:
  field-recordings!

Beside my artistic activities (presented at electronically yours!) I
started to publish an audio-blog presenting my little world of field
  recordings called bike-mike.
At
bike-mike you can enjoy sound-recordings I did with binaural microphones
  from all over the world.

Blogr seamed to be the right tool to
work with, because of the podcast abilty and the nice tools for html and
  photography.

Why bike-mike? Its simple, my second passion is bike-riding! See you at bike-mike!

<a href="javascript:HaloScan('<$EntryID$>');" target="_self"> | <a href="javascript:HaloScanTB('<$EntryID$>');" target="_self">

Fadi Dorninger's favourite blogs Pt.4!

Which blogs do I like in "blogistan" (Blogistan by Ritchie):

  networked_performance is a a
research blog about network-enabled performance hosted by Turbulance.
About
  networked_performance - more here
In
July 2004, Jo-Anne Green and Helen Thorington of Turbulence.org, and
Michelle Riel, Assistant Professor of New Media at California State
University Monterey Bay (CSUMB), originated the networked_performance
blog. It was our intent to chronicle current network-enabled practice,
to obtain a wide-range of perspectives on issues and to uncover
  commonalities in the work
For this purpose, they defined
networked_performance as any live event that is network enabled. They
included any form of networking in which computational devices speak to
each other and create a feedback loop. They also qualified networked
performance as being live, or experienced at the moment of creation or
  reception.

  Jake Mandell
A blog of a great
  musician (disography),
techno producer who is now working on a medical school. So he links
  acoustic research with hearing abilities.
I like his music but I also
love his tools to check how good my ears work after 20 years in music
  biz. Test your deafness here!
PS:
  I'm still doing good.

  Sound Art Performance
  Software
The blogs aim is: Investigating how electronic music is
  presented to an audience.
Some keywords: * Tangible Interfaces * Nime
  * Rhizomatic interface? * Sonasphere - Representating sound functions *
8=8=Concert=Performance=Demo * vci style interface design * An example
  of my performance * Prifrone * Visualisations Again… * VJ + Laptop

<a href="javascript:HaloScan('<$EntryID$>');" target="_self"> | <a href="javascript:HaloScanTB('<$EntryID$>');" target="_self">
