The MATRIX

Control software for complex art applications.

The MATRIX is a Linux-based real-time multi-data control package for a wide variety of possible usages. The MATRIX can be understood as an input and output logic control device for any conceivable trigger and display, whereby input data are translated into data material that can be processed further. The processing application logic and the translation into an output format take place in the MATRIX.

One of the chief considerations in the development of the MATRIX was to eliminate or facilitate types of developmental work that constantly recur in the world of art. Even those with little relevant experience can learn the script language and write applications on their own. Since the developmental work related to various different hardware link-ups has already been done, the user can concentrate on the application itself.

I was part of the concept group who invented and realised this piece of software which is supposed to help artist doing interactive installation.
