StencilU

StencilU is a quite simple but powerful realtime visualization of time and personality. It is an interactive installation, where your silhouette is captured with a camera and the frames of the silhouette are made smaller and arrange around the actual silhouette. The small silhouettes arranged are the differnent time frames. With this technique the motion of yourself floats around as small represantations around your big realtime shadow.

The aesthetics in b/w look like pictures in the sprayer/stencil community and the project will be enhanced with stencil of that style to add, simple symbolic icons like a communist star etc.

This project was a days job at the MediaConference Schmiede 04 in Hallein and was presented at FocusOn the exent and media festivals party. It was a result of the workshop I did with Strukt Visual Network. I programmed the silhouette detection and the integration in a 3d realtime environment. And made this StencilU project as my interpretation.
