An improvised evening of random punk ideas, thoughts, inventions and situations served up by two Czech talents in contemporary non-verbal and comic theatre, actor Vojta Švejda and
musician Jan Kalivoda. The comics-influenced aesthetic of this improvised performance reacts to its surroundings, as both performers submit to spontaneity right on stage.

Eine improvisierte Theater- und Musik Performance aus wahllosen Punk Ideen, Gedanken, Erfindungen und Situationen, dargebracht von zwei Könnern des modernen pantomimischen Theaters aus Prag. Die durch Comix beeinflusste Ästhetik dieser Performance bezieht ihre Umgebung mit ein, denn auf der Bühne verschreiben sich beide Performer absoluter Spontaneität.

VOJTA ŠVEJDA stellt in seinem Auftritt pantomimisch zahlreiche Situationen dar, wobei er Elemente aus der Comics Literatur und des Trickfilms verwendet. Die Übergänge zwischen mehr oder weniger nichts miteinander zu tun habenden Situationen bahnt sein kongenialer Partner JAN KALIVODA durch Musik und Geräusche aus dem Synthesizer an. Es wechselt etwa eine Rede eines Politikers in ein Schlagzeugsolo über, das in die Situation eines Arbeiters am Fliessband mündet, die in einen Ohrfeigenaustausch mit einem Vorgesetzten übergeht und zu einer Schiesserei eskaliert, wobei das Gewehr schliesslich zu einer Violine mutiert und danach sich eine UFO Landung anbahnt, die in der Folge unter Wasser abgehandelt wird. Erfrischend komisch ist auch die pantomimische Darstellung von Zaubertricks: das Verschwindenlassen und Hervorzaubern von nicht vorhandenen Dingen.

BLISS

Die Geschichte des Poeten Bliss, der im Dachgeschoss wohnt, an der Grenze zwischen Himmel
und Erde und zwischen Wunschtraum und Wirklichkeit. Vojta Svejda verwendet in seiner Performance Elemente aus den Genres Comix und Trickfilm. Er transformiert sorgfältig ausgewählte Alltagsdetails in Bewegung, Gestik und Mimik und entwickelt eine reale Geschichte, stets mit einem ironischen oder parodistischen Zug und kritischer Distanz. Ganz allein vermag er die leere Bühne in Schwingung zu versetzen. Sein Umgang mit imaginären Requisiten ist verblüffend.

The first scenic comics tells the life story of a poet Bliss who lives in the attic of the tallest building in town, not only on the edge of earth and heaven, but also on the edge of a funny dream and a ridiculous reality.

The narrative flow is inspired by comic strips and the poetry of animated pictures. Švejda works with elements of comics - short cut, montage, burlesque stylization. The actor's work is based on clowning and pantomime, enriched by sound effects. The live musical accompaniment of a contrabass and clarinet complete the atmosphere of the performance and provide an original and lively communication with the actor.

And not only from the comics, but also from the related "trashy genres" and therefore we can find cartoon gestures, situation humour, strip epigrams and also references to certain comics icons in the story of the unsuccessful scribbler. Also the mingling of Bliss' life with the excesses of his literary protagonist is smart - while Phil is a Casablanca style tough guy, Bliss himself often ends up like Frigo… Under the non-dazzling exterior of a poor man of letters a rich fantasy can be found and also in the seemingly modest story there is a huge amount of allusions (and thus, however, those who haven't read enough will be deprived of many things in this slapstick), gags, puns, and ironized comics pathos."
